As a recent newcomer to the skill of woodturning on the lathe, one of our members, John, wanted to have a go at turning a bowl.
So, dipping into our stock of hardwood, he found a suitable blank. He took off the corners on the chop saw and mounted it on the lathe.
With appropriate advice and tuition from other members with more experience of wood turning the resulting bowl was very impressive. In fact, it came out so well John is happy to give the bowl as a lovely birthday present for his daughter-in-law.
