Dominic Frapwell from Dom’s Fitness contacted the group on 18 August 2026 regarding the provision of games for an end-of-summer BBQ. As the event was intended to be family orientated, the aim was to provide suitable outdoor games that could be enjoyed by visitors of different ages.
One of the requested games was the traditional Cornhole game. Dominic supplied the required board design and measurements so that the boards could be constructed to the appropriate dimensions.

Materials and preparation
Two sheets of MDF were purchased from B&Q for the project:
• One sheet of 12 mm MDF
• One sheet of 18 mm MDF
It had already been decided that the B&Q board-cutting service would be used. This provided accurately cut sections for the tops and sides of the Cornhole boards and helped ensure that the finished boards would be made to the dimensions provided by Dominic.

Construction
Once the MDF sections had been cut, the individual components were prepared for assembly. The positions for the screws were carefully measured and marked, and pilot holes were drilled to help ensure accurate assembly and prevent damage to the MDF.
The boards were then glued and screwed together, producing the required Cornhole board structures. Care was taken during assembly to ensure that the components were correctly positioned and securely fixed.

Completion and handover
A total of four Cornhole boards were completed for the event. Once construction was finished, all four boards were collected by Dominic Frapwell.
In addition to the four newly constructed Cornhole boards, Dominic also collected another outdoor game that had previously been made, allowing a wider selection of games to be available for the BBQ.

Key outcome
The project successfully provided four new Cornhole boards, constructed to the measurements supplied by Dom’s Fitness and suitable for use at the family-oriented end-of-summer BBQ. The use of B&Q’s cutting service helped ensure accurate dimensions, while careful measurement, pilot drilling, gluing and screwing provided a straightforward and effective assembly process.
